What is Stress?
Stress is the god gifted defense system or traumatic event in our body. Which helps us to assist, in any type of Endangered situation
which may happen to us. Stress is the capability of our body to respond to
any type of dangerous or unethical situation.
Stressful situations
come to be real or imaginary, but our defense system never gets late to respond
to any stressful situation. During stressful situations, one can face
several health problems like rapid increase in blood pressure, heart rate, etc.
This rapid action of our body towards stressful situations is an automatic the process is known as the “fight or flight response” reaction or the “stress
response.”
Body response toward
stress is the way of protecting humankind from sudden unusual changes in the
situation like in the emergency situation. Stress can save your life, by
empowering you after pumping sufficient amounts of adrenaline in your body.
Which instantly increases the defending power of your body.
Stress can also help
you in meeting your day to day life challenges, like presentation, any types of
project deadlines or even sharpening your focus during playing the game.
But after a certain
point of time, stress plays a major role in damaging our health, mood,
productivity, and relationships instead of benefiting us.
Fight or Flight Response:
When your body feels
stressed & threatened, then your body releases a flooded amount of stress
hormones, which include several medical term stress hormones like adrenaline
& cortisol. Which prepares us to take action towards threatened situations.
This results in an increase in the heartbeat, muscles tighten, blood pressure
rises, breath quickens and your senses become sharpened.
Types of Stress:
The National Institute
of Mental Health identifies two
types of stress Acute Stress
and Chronic
Stress. There are certainly
three types of stressors, because of which stress cause to us:
Routine Stressor: Which is because of routine work and family.
Sudden Stressor: This is because of some business problems, finding a job, or
sudden job loss.
Traumatic Stressor: Which causes because of war, assault, accident, and disaster.
Acute Stress:
This is one of the
most common types. This type of stress is a part of life. The short-term stress and
gets faded out after problems get solved. During acute stress, people feel
the stress because of recent arguments or upcoming challenges in the future.
For example, a person can
feel the stress because of the recent argument with their wife, husband, family, and
boss, etc. Acute stress doesn’t consist of the same amount of loss in the
long term as Chronic Stress. The short-term effect includes tension headaches
and an upset stomach, as well as moderate amounts of distress. But on the other
hand, Repetitive events of acute stress over an extended period of time can
become chronic and harmful.
Chronic Stress:
This type of stress
develops after a long period of time & is way more harmful than the Acute
Stress. There are various types of situations because of which chronic
stress gets developed over a long period of time like Family problems, unhappy
marriage and ongoing poverty are the perfect examples of chronic stress
formation.
Chronic stress will
cause brain damage. Make it more difficult for the body to return to the normal
level of stress hormone. Which will be very harmful in the long term for
everyone. Which will cause the various type of Health problem like Respiratory,
Reproduction, Sleep, Immune System.
Constant state of
any type of stress may cause various types of diseases like diabetes, high
blood pressure, and heart disease. Depression, Anxiety, Mental Disorder and
Obsessive-compulsive disorder etc. People with chronic stress are at the
risk of a serious breakdown. Which can be lead to suicide, violent
action, heart attack, and stroke.
Sign and Symptoms of stress:
The most dangerous thing
about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You will get used to it,
without getting an idea about it. You will not notice how much it affects you,
even as it takes a heavy toll. That is why it will become more important to
know about signs and symptoms.

Cause of Stress:
Situation or
pressure in which we feel stress is known as a stressor. There is various type of
stressor, which cause acute or chronic stress. We normally think that bad
relationships, family problems, and a lot of work will produce stressors.
But anything which requires a lot of attention will produce stress.
This may include
buying a house, getting married, going to college and getting a promotion, etc. But
finally, what causes stress depends on the perception of the individual one.
Working with deadlines in the office might be enjoyable for one and stressful
for others.
